The story follows Mexican-American Alex Claremont-Diaz (Taylor Zakhar Perez) who, when his mother is elected President, becomes the American equivalent of a young member of royalty. Handsome, charismatic, brilliant, his image is pure gold for White House marketing. There’s just one problem: Alex has always been at odds with his overseas counterpart, Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine). And when the tabloids get hold of a photo of them in a fight, relations between the United States and the United Kingdom take an abrupt turn. The heads of the family, the state and other government officials create a plan to limit the damage: stage a fake reconciliation between the two rivals. What is initially a farce, an “Instagram” friendship, slowly becomes something more meaningful that neither Alex nor Henry could have imagined. Alex soon finds himself in a romance with a surprisingly natural Henry but this could complicate his mother’s re-election campaign and tip the balance of two nations by raising the question: can love save the world?
